Minutes of the East River Amateur Radio Club November 1, 2004 Ryan’s Steakhouse Bluefield, VA. http://www.erarc.com The November meeting of the ERARC was opened at 703pm by Hooger Fisher W4OF, ERARC Secretary. There were 12 members and guests in attendance. Hooger welcomed all and mentioned that George Dietrich KF4YGL is home after recent back problems. Treasurer's report by Bob Frazier WB8NRK. Bob listed expenditures and received monies for dues. On Oct. 4 he got a check in the amount of $325.00 from our liability insurance company for ‘over payment’. Bob had sent them a check for the insurance, waited 5 weeks, called them to check the status and they said that they never received the application or check. Bob paid for a “stop payment” on the check and sent in a copy of the paperwork and a new check. The first check never cleared the bank. Bob will write the company a letter explaining the situation and get this resolved. THERE ARE 0NLY 105 MEMBERS, DOWN FROM 140 LAST YEAR, WHO HAVE RENEWED THEIR MEMBERSHIP WITH THE CLUB. >Bob received a renewal from the Southeastern Repeater Assoc. for >renewal for the 444.45 repeater. He needs to know if other members have >received renewals so that all of the paperwork can be sent in at the >same time and only pay the $20.00 once. Please contact Bob if you have >received such notices for the other repeaters, thanks.> Hooger Fisher W4OF read the minutes. There were no additions, corrections, etc. Don Anderson mentioned that the long distance carrier on the 145.49/442.45 repeaters is now IDT as he had changed the carriers due to AT&T’s charges of $8.00 per month just for having AT&T as the carrier. Don also said the he and Jay Belt tested the 442.45 machine and found out that it wasn’t the feed line with a problem but the repeater itself. They changed out the PA, tuned it up and it is working very well now. He also said that the ’49 checked out OK also. “The clocks and auto patches are current also,” he said.
